Nicholas J. Chapman is a lifelong
resident of Haverhill, Massachusetts. He founded Nicholas J. Chapman, P.C., 12 miles
east of Haverhill in historic downtown Newburyport, Massachusetts,
in 1995. The Services section of this website describes the areas of law in
which Nick practices.
After graduating
from St.JamesHigh School in 1967, Nick attended MerrimackCollege
in North Andover, Massachusetts. Nick graduated from there cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree
in Political Science in 1971. As a loyal graduate, Nick regularly attends home
and away games of the Merrimack Warriors hockey team and has belonged to the
Merrimack College Alumni Association.
Nick enrolled at
the Suffolk University Law School in Boston after graduating from Merrimack
College. He graduated from there in 1974 and was admitted to the Massachusetts
Bar in December of 1974.
Nick's other
professional experience includes 20 years as a Trust and Tax Officer of
Arlington Trust Company in Lawrence, Massachusetts, which Bank of America has
acquired. Nick also worked in the Estate Settlement Department of Boston Safe
Deposit and Trust Company for 9 months and then spent over 10 years as a
Probate and Tax Specialist for Ropes and Gray, LLP, in Boston.
In addition to
volunteering as a member of the Alumni Resources Committee with the Merrimack
College Alumni Association, Nick is on the Advisory Board of the Newburyport
Salvation Army. He is former chairman of that board. He is also a member of the
Merrimack Valley Estate Planning council along with being a Past President of
that organization. In addition, he is the Vice President of Newburyport District Nursing Services, Inc. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Newburyport.
He also serves
as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at St. James Church in Haverhill.
